Saarbrücken - Hörsaal

The Architect was commissioned by the University of Saarbrücken to renovate one auditorium.

The design utilised modern ergonomically formed bleach wood seating, all on spring operated open and close mechanisms. Stepped from the front to the back of the auditorium, they give a lighter and cleaner finish to the middle portion of the space + provide excellent vies from all positions. The final element of the new seating was the installation of in-seat laptop power points.

The wall finish is in a darker shade of oak panelling offering a pleasant contrast in this space. The oak panelling placement offers excellent acoustic benefits, reducing noise reverberation.

The chess board like ceiling was given a softer colour scheme to freshen the existing form.

The final component was to incorporate the newest technical specifications for audio and visual + telecommunication needs.
