Merzig - Kruchten

A modern extension to an existing 18 century building to add 3 new apartments was the commission for this project.

The construction costs were dramatically reduced by using the existing common staircase and entry hall to connect the 3 new apartments. There are 2 single story apartments that include modern and economical fittings, such as tiled floors and central heating.

One apartment is of split level orientation and has as its central design feature a spiral staircase in stainless steel with Beachwood steps.

The building is thermally insulated and the exterior is finished in mineral cladding.

The raw concrete balconies accessible via room height corner windows with doors, brings this new complex into perfect contrast with the existing 18th century building.
